Guess who's 2?!?!

That's right. We celebrated a birthday in this household recently. It was a special day for everyone, and it's taken me a week of running it through my head to figure out what I wanted to say in this blog post.

This was Little T's first birthday with us, but it was his second birthday. It made me a bit sad to think of how much we missed out on with him, but also so happy to have him with us now. Sad to think of what his birth mother is missing. Sad that my little boy is not really a baby now, but officially a toddler. However, it was such a happy occasion. So wonderful to see the delight in our boy's face when he sees his grandparents. And the thrill he gets out of something as simple as a balloon just... well, it's adorable! Seriously, the balloons were probably his favorite present! Watching him eat cake and get presents from friends and family. Hearing him say "2" whenever one of us asked him hold he was.

These happy moments are what I dreamed about during our adoption journey. You know how people say things about adoption and giving birth along the lines of "It will all be worth it in the end"? They were right.
